Articles Processing Charges

Pakistan Journal of Nutrition follows an open-access publishing model to ensure that all published research is freely and permanently accessible to readers across the globe. To sustain the costs of peer review, editorial management, typesetting, online hosting, and archiving, a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 275 is applied for each manuscript accepted for publication.

This fee is billed to the corresponding author only after the article has successfully passed peer review and is formally accepted for publication. There are no additional fees for manuscript submission, article length, or the inclusion of color figures.

We believe in making quality research widely accessible while maintaining transparency and fairness in our publication policies.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

If applicable, Value Added Tax (VAT) or similar taxes will be added to the APC in accordance with the tax laws of the author's country or the institution's billing requirements. Authors will be notified during the invoicing process if VAT applies.

Refund Policy

The APC is non-refundable once the article has been accepted and published.
Refunds are not provided under the following circumstances:

  • Author withdrawal after acceptance

  • Publication delays caused by the author

  • Rejection of the article after peer review (as no fee is charged before acceptance)

In rare cases of duplicate payment or technical error, refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Waiver Policy

Pakistan Journal of Nutrition is committed to supporting researchers from all parts of the world. Waivers or discounts may be granted to:

  • Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries, as classified by the World Bank

  • Researchers who lack institutional funding or are from non-profit organizations

To request a waiver, authors must submit a waiver application at the time of manuscript submission, clearly explaining their situation. Waiver decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and are independent of editorial decisions.
