Join PJN as Editor
The editors of the Pakistan Journal of Nutrition (PJN) are responsible for maintaining the quality, integrity, and transparency of the scholarly record. They must make fair and unbiased decisions on submitted manuscripts, based entirely on academic merit and the relevance of the work. Editors are expected to uphold confidentiality during the review and decision-making process and to avoid conflicts of interest that may compromise their independence.
Editors oversee the peer review process by selecting qualified and independent reviewers who provide constructive and timely evaluations. In cases where reviewers provide conflicting recommendations, editors must carefully consider all perspectives and reach a balanced, fair decision. They are also required to ensure that manuscripts meet ethical standards for research involving humans or animals and that authors disclose funding sources and conflicts of interest.
Editors must take appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate submissions. When errors are identified in published articles, the editorial office should issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern to preserve the trustworthiness of the scholarly record.
The PJN follows an open access policy, ensuring that all published content remains freely accessible without subscription barriers. Editors are expected to support the principles of transparency, accessibility, and long-term preservation of published research, making the content available to a wide academic community.
Editors are encouraged to keep themselves informed about current developments in editorial practices and scholarly publishing. They should engage with training opportunities, read relevant literature, and participate in professional discussions to continuously improve their editorial skills and uphold high publishing standards.
The PJN welcomes qualified researchers and academics who wish to contribute as part of the editorial team. Those interested in joining as an editor can create an account by registering at https://pjnonline.org/pjn/user/register and should also send their CV to editorpjn@gmail.com. The CV must include academic qualifications, research background, editorial experience, and areas of expertise. Applications are reviewed carefully by the editorial office, and selected candidates may be invited to join the editorial board, depending on their qualifications and the needs of the journal.
