Archiving
Long-Term Preservation of Content
The Pakistan Journal of Nutrition is committed to ensuring permanent access to its published articles. We use robust digital preservation systems so that even in the event the journal stops operating, its content and metadata remain accessible and safe.
Dual Archiving Strategy
-
Dark Archives: We deposit all published articles and metadata into secure, private digital repositories. These are “dark archives” that are inaccessible to readers under normal operation, but would be activated if the journal becomes unavailable, preserving the academic record.
-
Public Archives: Pakistan Journal of Nutrition ensures the long-term preservation of its published content by depositing all articles and metadata in Portico and the Internet Archive, safeguarding access even if the journal becomes unavailable.
Alignment with Best Practice Standards
Our archiving plan meets key principles of scholarly publishing ethics, requiring that journals preserve and protect their content using reliable and recognized services. Compliance with these ethical standards maintains the integrity of the scholarly record.
Author Rights and Support
Authors may also deposit accepted manuscripts or final published versions in their institutional or community repositories without restriction and with confidence that their work is preserved under the journal’s archiving policies. These self-archived versions do not affect our archiving arrangements.
Review and Updates
We regularly review our archiving arrangements to ensure they meet evolving international standards and maintain connections with long-standing archive services.
